SMA is an international education consulting company providing recruiting services for European Medical Schools and International students. SMA ensures that appropriate steps are adhered to with the preparation, submission and processing of your application. Further we act as an intermediary between the applicant and the respective Ministry of Education and the university applied to.

A Code of Good Practice will be implemented pertaining to the policy, and procedure, regulation whereby an amicable relationship is maintained, between the Romanian Ministry of Education, the applicant and SMA.

Upon acceptance of this document the applicant, agrees to the following terms and conditions:

  • The applicant must ensure that they are familiar with the institution's policies and procedure pertaining to the code of conduct, faculties or programmes available, and being abreast with your studies.
  • Ensure that steps/measures are in place for their health, accommodation and well being.
  • Ensure that safety measures are taken with regards to their mode of transportation and other travels.

  • The applicant is held fully responsible for researching the institute and the validity of the qualification received upon return to their home country.
  • Applicants for Postgraduate and/or Specialisation programmes are responsible to research whether their University qualification is accepted or valid for a placement to a specialisation or postgraduate programme in Romania.

Liabilities and Responsibilities

Although SMA makes best effort to ensure the safety of the student and a successful study career, there are powers that exist that are beyond our domain. Bearing this in mind, SMA does not accept any liability and responsibility whatsoever for any of the following:

  • The applicant's Visa is rejected. (Please refer to our refund policy below)
  • Whether the application is accepted or declined, is solely at the discretion of the Romanian Ministry of Education or the University.

  • Well being, health and safety of the applicant.

  • The year of study a transfer student will be placed in. (this shall be determined by the transfer committee of the applied to university after the applicant's arrival in Romania).

Payment Policy

A deposit is required from the applicant before SMA will commence work with the applicant’s file.

Upon procurement of the acceptance letter to study at the applied to university, the balance of any SMA fees are required to be paid in full, regardless of whether the applicant decides not to accept the seat.

The acceptance letter will be scanned and emailed to the applicant only once all SMA fees have been settled. The acceptance letter would be couriered to the student only if it is necessary or on the student's request. The acceptance letter would be given to the applicant by SMA's representatives when they arrive in Romania.

Payments are made in Euro, USD or GBP currencies via wire transfer to SMA’s holding company in Romania.

Refund Policy

SMA makes every effort to ensure a successful application. There are several operating costs involved with ensuring a successful application, regardless of whether the application was successful or not. SMA offers a partial refund policy on a case by case basis.

SMA are not able to offer a refund for applicants with lower than average academic results. Refund requests for applicants with sub-standard academic results will be resolved on a case by case basis at the fair and sole discretion of SMA.

Postgraduate or Specialisations students whose previous academic university studies are not recognised by the Romanian University applied to and/or Ministry of Education, and their application is rejected because of this reason, would receive only 50% refund of their deposit payment.

Should the applicant, with competitive results from previous studies, submit all required documentation on time, and SMA is unsuccessful in producing a letter of acceptance to the chosen field of study, SMA offers a 100% money back guarantee (less transaction fees).

Should the applicant’s visa be rejected, 70% of the application fee may be refunded, also to be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Once the confirmation of acceptance has been received, SMA has the right to refuse any refunds should the student wish to pursue an alternative career path. Each of such cases will be reviewed individually. Refunds are conducted via International SWIFT transfers and require the recipient to have a valid bank on the SWIFT or IBAN system. Refunds have to be authorised by a company director and may take up to 3 months to complete.
