Total Annual Budget for Foreign Students in Romania

This information is up to date as at December 2011. Due to the economic/financial crisis, apartment/house rental prices have actually reduced in Romania.

Below is an annual budget for studying medicine, dentistry or pharmacy in Romania. It does not include travelling expenses from Romania back to your home country, during holidays (3 months vacation: July-September of every year). The living expenses include accommodation, transport, food and other miscellanous spending.

The budget below is calculated based on 2 students sharing a 2 room apartment. It is also possible to find a 1 room apartment ('gasoniera') for €100-€300 a month (the price depending on your city of study). In winter time, the monthly bills (utilities) are much higher and lower during summer period. We've averaged out the bills (utilities) to €90 per month.

With €400 per month a student should be able to have enough to eat well and live in a moderately comfortable place.

------------------------------

The total budget per year, including tuition fees (let's say: €5000) is €9300 EUR. This is a very comfortable budget. If a student chooses a univesity with lesser tuition fee and cut living expenses to a minimum, the total budget per year may be as low as 8000 EUR.

The main reason why we are so enthusiastic about promoting Romania as an ideal study location, is the high level of academic excellence at such an affordable fee. This, together with the ideal living conditions, makes Romania an ideal option for anyone interested in studying undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in medicine, dentistry or pharmacy.

The low tuition fees of Romanian universities are a bonus especially when considering the quality of medical education and the value of the Medical degree in the EU/EEA countries and other countries of the world after graduation.
