SMA Budget Service Packages

SMA Offers two service packages : SMA FLEXI and SMA DELUXE

SMA Flexi – €990 EUR

  • Application Administering
    We review and ensure all your documents are correctly completed. We ensure that all documents to facilitate your speedy application processing are included in the application file. We follow up directly with the Ministry of Education or University with the progress of your application. If there is something missing we ensure that this is produced and resubmitted. *Through experience we have learnt much about bureaucratic processes within the various Ministries and Universities. With SMA it is our business to ensure you get the acceptance letter.

  • Hand Delivered Application Forms
    Your documents are hand delivered to The Ministry of Education or University. * We work directly with the universities or a physical person at the Ministry of Education who processes our applications. Your application will be hand delivered directly to our point of contact. You will not have to be concerned about whether your documents have reached the right place.

  • Emergency Support
    In the unlikely event of an emergency and SMA onsite representative will be available via telephone to assist. This is an invaluable service which we include in all our service level packages. Onsite representatives will be available via telephone during office hours and on a best effort basis after hours.

  • SMA Support Centre correspondence
    All your queries are answered by our team via the SMA Support Centre. We endeavour to answer all enquiries within a 24 hour period.

  • Courier fees
    We will courier your acceptance letter directly to you in your country. Your acceptance letter is required for you to get a student visa. Why risk having this important document getting sent through standard post when we will use our courier service to hand deliver the acceptance letter directly to you. A direct application to the Ministry of Education or University does not provide a courier service.

  • Full access to SMA News and Updates
    The SMA news and updates will provide you with quick access to news and information on your new study environment. You will have full access to all resources that will be of use to you in your country of study. Our website has been custom designed and is a versatile dynamic system that allows us to display relevant information to you. For example, prior to your departure we network you with other clients who are coming from your country and you also have the choice to meet other students through our website. Another good example is notification on ongoing changes. In 2007 our E.U clients were quickly notified about entrance exam procedure, syllabus, date and venue, via the SMA News and Updates. *NOTE – Some universities in Romania charge an additional 150 Euros for managing the registration file. This practice is being phased out, however if there is such a fee you will be informed in advance.

  • Notices of special offers
    As an SMA client we will keep you updated on a special or bulk offers that come our way. Sometimes we receive offers from companies who publish text books or offer student tourism packages. We get these offers at greatly discounted prices as we buy in bulk/wholesale. As an SMA client you receive this saving. As an example, we received Anatomy I & II textbooks at 40% the list price.

  • Temporary Accommodation booking (reservation) service
    Usually it takes about a week to find suitable permanent accommodation. We will book you into a youth hostel or hotel based on your budget. You will benefit from whatever discounts we receive as a bulk buyer. Youth Hostels and budget hotels/pensions range from €10-€25 per night.

  • Who is this package for?
    This is for the mature student who has travel experience. You are confident and comfortable in foreign countries and amongst people who speak a different language. You have traveled previously and can easily find your way around using maps and other resources.

    This is for students who are seasoned travellers and are able to get around easily using a guide and map. You learn new languages quickly and feel comfortable in foreign countries amongst people of different culture and language.

    This is for students who have friends studying at the applied to faculty that will assist them with all the processes involved in getting settled down.

    This is ideal for students travelling in pairs or groups. Thereafter you may as a group arrange permanent accommodation using the real-estate agent and complete the university registration as well as application for the temporary residence permit.

    This is for students who are on a very, very tight budget. You should examine your financial situation and make sure that you have forecasted for the forthcoming 6 years.

  • Telephone support
    SMA offices work flexi-time and our clients are located all over the world in different time zones. We will provide you with best effort telephonic support. Should you be greeted by voice mail, clearly state your client username or reference number and what the nature of your call is. We will either call you back where necessary or send you an email with the information you require. Our preferred form of communication is via email. However SMA Deluxe clients will get access to telephonic/voice support.

  • SMA onsite Telephone Support
    During the registration period The SMA team is available after office hours. When you arrive in Romania you will have telephonic support from local onsite team members who will be able to assist with giving you directions or useful information to help you get settled.

  • Airport Transfer
    We will arrange a taxi for you from the local airport at your destination city to your hotel. Taxi’s can be expensive for foreigners not used to the local fees and without the know how to negotiate with local drivers. We will take care of this. All you do is look for the person with your name on a board at the airport and relax while your bags are loaded and you are taken to your hotel. We use reliable established taxi companies.

  • 1st night in hotel included
    We will book and transport you to a comfortable 3 star hotel close to the city centre. Hotel prices range between 50-75 Euros per night for 3 star accommodations in Romania. After your first night in the 3star hotel, you may wish to change to a cheaper hotel/hostel pending the time our real-estate agent finds a suitable accommodation for you depending on your budget. *We’ll pay for your first night in the 3star hotel.

  • Accommodation finding assistance
    We will introduce you to our real estate letting agent in your city of study and arrange with them to have apartments available for your viewing when you arrive. You tell us what you want, what’s your budget and if you want to share. We will ask the real-estate agent to review the lease agreement just to make sure all is well and even ask for it to be translated into English for your peace of mind. We will speak to the agent about negotiating the best price for you.

  • Assistance with travel arrangements
    We have much experience with travelling to Romania. We will provide you with advice on which is the best route based on your nationality and passport (To avoid visa complications). We will assist you with time tables and travel routes and even book your internal flights for you if you require. Internal airlines require payment at the time of booking. Although we will not charge a service fee for booking your internal flights, we do require you to pay for the actual cost of the internal flight in advance.

  • Visa Advice and Support
    Should there be any documentation that your local Romanian consulate requires, we will assist in providing this. Sometimes the consulate asks for proof of tuition fee payment or other forms of supporting documentation from the university. We experienced cases where students were very late for the academic year, received the acceptance letter after the academic year started, and had to urgently get the visa processed. You will be surprised to find that neither the consulate nor the university will see this as an emergency situation. We will help facilitate this process on a best effort basis.

  • Residency Permit assistance
    The process for acquiring the study residency permit from home affairs is quite a lengthy procedure for students. You will have to first complete your registration at university, which involves going to different locations around the city. You will then have to arrange student medical insurance, accommodation, local medical certificate, registration at the police station etc. A ‘SMA rep’ will help you through this process and assist you getting around. All SMA reps have been trained on how to efficiently conduct the completion of application for the temporary visa permit. Your SMA rep will be available for 1 week physically. You also have access to your SMA rep via telephone even after the first week.

  • Late applications no extra charge
    Late applications mean additional courier fees and additional trips to the Ministry. For SMA Deluxe clients there will be no additional late application fees.

  • Document translations included
    We will arrange for your birth certificate and high school diploma documents to be translated and notarised when the original is produced. Documents are required to be translated into Romanian for completion of the registration at the University.

  • Entrance exam services for EU students
    Students from E.U member states are required to write an entrance exam in some faculties in order to receive discounted tuition fees agreed upon between E.U member countries. Our E.U clients usually come to Romania for 2-3 days to write the exam and then return to their home countries. We will provide our E.U clients with free airport transfer from the local city airport to hotel and hotel booking service for your entrance exam. We will try to email your exam results after you have returned to your home country. For E.U students the temporary residence permit application has fewer requirements so we are compensating this by providing you with the Entrance exam service. Our SMA Representative (‘SMA rep’) will assist you book a taxi back to the airport for you to return to your home country.

  • SMA Get Started! Pack
    The SMA Get Started pack includes the following… A pay as you go mobile sim card and mobile number so your parents may call you as soon as you arrive to your hotel. 2 folders, 1 for the university and 1 for home affairs for your temporary resident permit application. The student stamp – ‘timbrul fiscal’ (needed with your other documents for extension of your student visa )

  • Who is the package best suited for?
    This package is for every student who can afford this option. You will have the security of knowing your temporary accommodation on arrival is taken care of and within 1 week to 10days of your arrival, you are assured of a permanent accommodation by our real-estate agent. We advise all our clients to take this option if it is in their budget. Also the services offered by a SMA Rep are invaluable to a foreign student in a new environment where the local language is not spoken.

    Students who are from countries where visa applications may be complicated or where visas are often rejected, are advised to purchase this option as SMA will assist with additional documentation as best as possible.

    This package is for the first time traveler who has not been away from home. Traveling is a new experience. It takes some practice and experience before you are comfortable with all the processes involved in traveling across continents and countries.

    This package is for younger students traveling on their own. Your purpose is to study, not worry about the cumbersome processes involved in finding accommodation, registration and visa extension.

    Postgraduate Students. You are already a qualified professional. Let the SMA team take care of all the time consuming processes giving you time to make arrangements with the specializations department head and arrange your postgraduate program.
